This two-day seminar is provided for those judges who sit in the High Court, county court and family Proceedings Court who regularly hear the whole range of public family law cases including adoption and placement order applications.
The aim of this seminar is to provide suitably authorised judges with an opportunity to review and develop their knowledge and skill in managing and making decisions in public law cases.
The seminar combines presentations from experts in their field with small-group discussions that provide you with an opportunity to exchange views and share experiences with fellow judges who hear these challenging cases.
Topics covered include:
• Updates on recent developments in law and practice
• Case management issues
• Vulnerable parents
• Sexual and physical abuse of children
• Permanence planning, including adoption
