Study visit at the European Court of Human Rights

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

24 English-speaking judges and prosecutors from 12 European countries took part in a 4-day study visit at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) from 28 November to 1st December 2011. This study visit was organised in the framework of the Exchange Programme for Judicial Authorities in close cooperation with the ECHR.

The participants were introduced to the ECHR through several sessions on specific topics and also had the opportunity to meet and discuss with a judge from the Court. A practical session with a focus on the presentation and discussion of recent case law has been organised at the end of the activity.

Great cooperation
Participants also had the opportunity to visit the Palais de l’Europe, headquarters of the Council of Europe and to be given an introduction to this institution.

Thanks to the great cooperation between ECHR and EJTN, this fourth study visit has once again been very successful. Participants underlined the high quality of the programme and they were very satisfied with this experience.

New opportunities for study visits at ECHR should be opened in 2012. For more information on the EJTN Exchange Programme and training opportunities, we invite you to consult the EJTN website on a regular basis.
