The EJTN catalogue offers training activities opened by the EJTN members to all judges and prosecutors of the European Union.

The Exchange Programme, funded by the European Commission for the fourth consecutive year and implemented by the European Judicial Training Network, is now open.
This Programme is aimed at judges and public prosecutors (including future judges and prosecutors), administrative judges and judicial trainers in Europe.
Application forms and a comprehensive guide to the Programme can be found in the Exchange programme section of this website.
All applications should be sent to the relevant authority as specified in the Guide for Exchanges by 31st December 2007.

The official launch ceremony of the Exchange Programme for 2007 took place on 19th March at the European Parliament in Brussels. Distinguished guests included the Vice-President of the Parliament, Mr Alejo Vidal-Quadras, the Vice-President of the LIBE Committee, Mr. Stavros Lambrinidis, and Mrs. Denise Sorasio, Director of internal security and criminal justice at the European Commission.
On the following day, the EJTN Secretary General, Gilles Charbonnier, and two participants of the 2006 Programme presented the Exchange Programme at the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) of the European Parliament.

On 22nd February 2007, the Council of the European Union approved 3 new financial instruments for the next 7 years with a view to strengthening security, enhancing protection for citizens and promoting judicial cooperation between EU Member States.
The EJTN will benefit from financial support for its operational activities through the specific programme ‘Criminal Justice’ as part of the General Programme ‘Fundamental Rights and Justice’ for the period 2007-2013. This programme broadly aims to strengthen the area of freedom, security and justice in the European Union and promotes specific objectives such as training in Union and Community law for the judiciary, lawyers and other professionals involved in the work of the judiciary.
With a total budget of €196.2 million for the period 2007 – 2013, the specific programme ‘Criminal Justice’ applies from 1st January 2007 onwards.

In the presence of French authorities, many judges as well as high European judicial authorities, the Supreme Court of Cassation held its solemn audience, exceptionally placed this year under the sign of the Europe of Justice. On this occasion, Guy Canivet, First President of the Court, reminded the engagement of the French supreme jurisdiction "as body for the realization of the European Law as much as actor of judicial area".
Also present at this event, Franco Frattini, Vice-president of the European Commission, stressed the importance of mutual confidence between the legal authorities of the Member States and the support which the Commission brings to the action of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN), represented on this occasion by its Secretary General, Gilles Charbonnier.
